SADC must be unified under one regime because it will lead to more economic growth and higher quality of life
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is one of the poorest regions in the world. It has a combined nominal GDP of $1 trillion. The region's economies are not integrated and most SADC countries trade with partners outside the region. There are 20 different currencies in circulation within the region.
Unification of Southern Africa has been a topic of debate for many years. It is an important topic which needs the focus to be directed towards it more often.
South African Development Community (SADC) countries need to realize that unification is the only way forward and will reap significant benefits in the long term. Countries like Angola, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia and Zimbabwe will benefit from unification.
It is time for Southern Africa to wake up and realize the potential it has. Countries in Southern Africa must unite together to overcome the regional challenges that they face.
Unity is the answer to our challenges.
The relationship between the different countries in southern Africa is not always perfect. Some countries are resource rich while others are not. Countries with abundant resources often do not want to share them with less fortunate neighbors and vice versa.
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has been trying to create a harmonious region for too long, but it does not seem to work. This is because the SADC has so many senseless borders that divide the region and make it impossible for everyone to live in peace and prosperity together. It’s time for these borders to come down now so that one big super power can emerge in this part of Africa.
The region must be able to provide for itself and in turn, be a global player in the world.
South Africa has been successful with its unification policies providing stability and economic growth that other countries in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) lack. The current SADC lack of unification shows the need for one big super power to emerge from it.
The natural resources in Angola, Mozambique, DRC offer a huge opportunity for African development. Zambia’s electricity offers an opportunity to trade with Zimbabwe and other countries in the region. Zimbabwe’s tobacco offers opportunities for exports to other countries as well as an increase in productivity within Zimbabwe because of higher demand.
It is true that the Southern Africa Development Council (SADC) countries are not yet united. They must unite if they want to grow and become a superpower in the world.
The SADC region has everything they need to be a superpower. They have natural resources and geographic advantage to be one of the biggest economies in Africa. But, there is lack of unity among these countries which is preventing them from achieving this goal.
Without unification, Southern Africa will go nowhere.
The region has been a political and economic trouble spot for decades.
It is clear to see, that if the same countries in Southern Africa do not unite, there will be no way for the region to improve.
