A citizen of Nigerian nationality is being held at the 2nd Police Station of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in Tete city, over the alleged possession, sale and trafficking of drugs, according to spokesman for the Provincial PRM Command in Tete, Feliciano da Câmara.
The 31-year-old man was detained on Monday afternoon (08-08) in the city’s Samora Machel neighbourhood after being approached by agents of the 2nd Station Command and found to be in possession of 2.6 kilograms of heroin.
The man allegedly offered the police officers 40,000 meticais in an attempt to avoid criminal accountability.
This attempt, the spokesman said, attracted further attention, and a search revealed more cash totalling 75,000 meticais, presumably revenue from the sale of drugs.Source: Notícias
