Harare, Emmerson Mnangagwa, the current President of Zimbabwe, has recently come under fire for his plans to spend 240 million US dollars on his reelection campaign. Mnangagwa, also known okas the “Crocodile,” has been accused of using his position of power to enrich himself and his cronies at the expense of the Zimbabwean people.

Zimbabwean Dictator Emmerson Mnangwagwa

Mnangagwa came to power in 2017 after a military coup ousted his predecessor, Robert Mugabe. Many Zimbabweans hoped that Mnangagwa would usher in a new era of democracy and economic prosperity, but those hopes have been dashed. Instead, Mnangagwa has continued many of Mugabe’s repressive policies and has presided over an economic collapse that has left millions of Zimbabweans in poverty.

Despite this, Mnangagwa is determined to win reelection in the upcoming 2023 presidential election. His plan to spend 240 million US dollars on his campaign has been met with outrage from Zimbabweans who see it as a blatant abuse of power.

Mnangagwa’s opponents have accused him of using state resources to fund his campaign and of intimidating and harassing opposition supporters. The government has also been accused of manipulating the media to present a positive image of Mnangagwa and to suppress dissenting voices.

The fact that Mnangagwa is willing to spend such a vast sum of money on his reelection campaign speaks volumes about his priorities. Instead of using that money to address the many problems facing Zimbabwe, such as the country’s crumbling infrastructure, high unemployment, and food insecurity, Mnangagwa is more concerned with maintaining his grip on power.

It is clear that Mnangagwa is a mampara, a word used in Zimbabwean slang to describe a foolish or incompetent person. His decision to spend 240 million US dollars on his reelection campaign is not only foolish, but it is also an insult to the millions of Zimbabweans who are struggling to survive.

Zimbabweans deserve better than Mnangagwa and his cronies. They deserve a government that prioritizes their needs and works to build a brighter future for all. Until that happens, Zimbabwe will continue to suffer under Mnangagwa’s failed leadership.
