HARARE|Majority Party in Zimbabwe CCC leader Nelson Chamisa has made fun of his opponent Emmerson Mnangwagwa who will turn 81 by next year when the general elections are held.
In a country where the average lifespan is around 35 years old, 45-year-old Nelson Chamisa stands to be the youngest presidential candidate in Zimbabwe’s history.
.”In 2023 next year, the time Zimbabwe holds the general elections, I will be 45 years young. My competitor will be 81 years old. Give us another 5 years, I will be 50 years energetic and my brother will be 86 years tired. #TheTimeHasCome
“I’m not surprised by it because my opponent himself is an octogenarian,” Chamisa said on Twitter as he poked fun of his rival Emmerson Mnangagwa
Mnangagwa claims he was born on October 4th 1942 and that would make him 81 next year but his birth certificate says October 1940 and that would make him 83!
Zimbabwe is due to hold general elections on July 30. The country’s main opposition leader Nelson Chamisa, 44, is facing off against Emmerson Mnangwagwa, 81.
