Thomas Robb, an American white supremacist, Ku Klux Klan leader, and Christian Identity pastor, has passed away at the age of 77. The news of Robb’s death was shared through a publication made on Twitter on Thursday, the 20th of April 2023, by Fetty.
Robb was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Tucson, Arizona. He attended college in Colorado. Robb was the pastor of the Christian Revival Center in Zinc, Arkansas, as of December 2022, a Christian Identity center where he advocated racism and anti-Semitism. According to Robb’s “Thomas Robb Ministries” website, “the Anglo Saxon [sic], Germanic, Scandinavian, and kindred people are THE people of the Bible.”
In 1989, Robb took over the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, which had been led by David Duke. To obtain public approval, he changed his title to “National Director” rather than “Imperial Wizard” and renamed the group “The Knights Party.” He also opted to accept members using mail-in applications rather than initiation procedures, which had previously been standard Klan practice.
Robb has maintained contacts with various far-right organizations, including speaking at the Aryan Nations’ annual “World Congress” of hate group leaders, appearing on Jamie Kelso’s white supremacist Voice of Reason Radio Network, and routinely contributing to the white supremacist Internet forum Stormfront.
Robb’s daughter Rachel Pendergraft and his granddaughters Charity and Shelby Pendergraft created Heritage Connection, a “white nationalist” band, in 2009. The Crusader, a quarterly publication published by Robb’s Party, features articles promoting white supremacy and hate towards non-white people.
The Trump campaign responded by condemning a front-page piece titled “Make America Great Again,” which Robb penned in The Crusader in November 2016, just days before the presidential election, devoted to a lengthy endorsement of Donald Trump and Trump’s program.
The family will release an obituary and funeral arrangements for Thomas Robb. The news of Robb’s death has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some people expressing sadness at his passing, while others are celebrating the end of a hateful and divisive era.
